Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lake Belton walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Walnut Grove Wildcats 2-1 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won 24 matchups in a row.

Lake Belton pushed their record up to 34-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Walnut Grove, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-8.

Looking ahead, Lake Belton will take on Melissa on Saturday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 35th straight win, something the Broncos surely won't give up without a fight. Walnut Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
