Baseball Recap: Head-Royce Comes Up Short

Head-Royce blew Piedmont out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Piedmont got their revenge. The Jayhawks fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 7-5. That's two games in a row now that the Jayhawks have lost by exactly two runs.

Graham Sanger and Kaden Choi stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanger scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Choi went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Kento Tsuji also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Head-Royce's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Piedmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Head-Royce will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Piedmont, they will face off against Alameda at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
