Basketball Recap: Village Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Village Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots 78-7. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-5.

Stuart Harrell was Village Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Leading Freedom Christian Academy to victory were Allison Lett and Zarah Lewis. Lett went 12 of 14 on her way to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Lewis went 12 for 17 on her way to 29 points. Lewis has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Izzie Dalton-Jimenez was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight steals and six assists.

Village Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Freedom Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Village Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on The O'Neal School at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they will host Northwood Temple Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
