Seneca Valley dropped their record down to 18-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Hempfield Area Spartans by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Hempfield Area, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Give their pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

For Hempfield Area's part, not much got past Riley Miller, who gave up just a hit to keep Seneca Valley off the board. Miller has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
