Soccer Game Preview: Torrance vs. West

The Torrance Tartars will face off against the West Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Torrance's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. They came out on top against Wiseburn- Da Vinci by a score of 2-0. Given the Tartars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Wolves are ranked 612th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alex Kozhukharov and Andy Alvardo scored both of Torrance's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, West entered their tilt with North on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Saxons.

Torrance's win bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for West, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-2.

Torrance beat West by a goal in their previous meeting on January 14th, winning 4-3. Does Torrance have another victory up their sleeve, or will West turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
