Softball Recap: Cory-Rawson Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Baltimore, Cory-Rawson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 22-9 margin over the Leipsic Vikings. For the Fighting Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 8-6 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Hailie Hamilton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Hamilton was also big at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases and five runs.

In other batting news, Cory-Rawson got a massive performance out of Addyson Duffman, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Duffman a new career-high. Hazel Dixon was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Cory-Rawson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Leipsic, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Cory-Rawson has already played their next matchup, a 13-11 victory against Arlington on the 11th. As for Leipsic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-4 win against Pandora-Gilboa on the 13th.
