Millard North had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They snuck past the Quincy Blue Devils with a 56-52 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Nebraska, while the Blue Devils are ranked 62nd in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Millard North was led to victory by Sara Harley and Izzie Galligan. Harley posted 18 points, while Galligan scored 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most points Harley has posted since back in January of 2024. Clara Welker was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Millard North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They are a perfect 3-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Quincy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Brown, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 20 points and eight rebounds. Brown is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Nicholson, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Millard North pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Quincy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Millard North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-43 victory against Marian on the 30th. As for Quincy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-54 win against Galesburg on the 30th.
