Soccer Game Preview: Fairview vs. Sycamore

The Fairview Yellowjackets will head out to square off against the Sycamore War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairview's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Sycamore heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Fairview took over last week. The Yellowjackets came out on top in a nail-biter against Creek Wood on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that Fairview have won by just one goal.

Banyan Braswell and Beckam Adams scored both of Fairview's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sycamore). Everything went their way against Montgomery Central on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Sycamore, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Fairview's win bumped their record up to 6-7-2. As for Sycamore, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2-3.

Fairview suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Sycamore in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
