The Knight Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Desert Christian Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row dating back to last season, Knight turned things around against Silverado on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Silverado. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Knight has posted since March 8, 2024.
Meanwhile, everything went Desert Christian's way against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on Tuesday as Desert Christian made off with a 14-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy: they've now won three in a row.
Jason Main was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Desert Christian got a massive performance out of Andrew Silva, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Logan Mount, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Desert Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy only posted an OBP of .308.
Desert Christian now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Knight, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Knight came up short against Desert Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 6-2. Can Knight avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
