Recap: Surrattsville Hornets vs. Friendly Patriots
The Surrattsville Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Friendly 79-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (64), Surrattsville still had to take the loss.
Friendly's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ammanuel Bisrat, who scored 20 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Bisrat scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Graham, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Surrattsville's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Friendly, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Surrattsville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Surrattsville likes a good challenge. Friendly won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Douglass has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 858 points over their last 12 matchups.
