Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Christian lost against Delavan back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cyclones fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-5.

Josh Kursell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Cornerstone Christian is 2-1 when Kursell posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Cooper Knapp was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cornerstone Christian dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Delavan, their record is now 13-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will head out to challenge Heyworth at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Delavan, they will venture away from home to square off against Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
