Preble Shawnee suffers fourth straight loss at home

Recap: Preble Shawnee Arrows vs. Brookville Blue Devils

The Preble Shawnee Arrows are still winless after their matchup against the Brookville Blue Devils on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Preble Shawnee fell just short of Brookville by a score of 38-35. Preble Shawnee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brookville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Preble Shawnee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabella Agee, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Agee scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashleigh Mondello-garrett, who scored five points along with six steals.

Preble Shawnee struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Ashlee Haupt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brookville, scoring 16 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Sara Carr, who scored five points along with five rebounds.

Preble Shawnee bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Brookville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Preble Shawnee will square off against Arcanum at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arcanum presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Preble Shawnee in Ohio (Arcanum is ranked 200th, while Preble Shawnee is ranked 775th). As for Brookville, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Monroe is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
