Baseball Game Preview: Bayou Academy Colts vs. Clarksdale Wildcats

The Bayou Academy Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Clarksdale Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayou Academy will be strutting in after a win while Clarksdale will be coming in after a defeat.

Bayou Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Winston Academy 4-3. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ryan Mallette was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Reed Holman also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Clarksdale came up short against Center Hill on Saturday, falling 13-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clarksdale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Washington, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Clarksdale's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bayou Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bayou Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Clarksdale struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
