Basketball Recap: Sound Christian Skates Past Quilcene with Ease

Sound Christian won the last time they faced Quilcene and things went their way on Monday too. The Sound Christian Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Quilcene Rangers 43-8. That looming 43-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Sound Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Mesler out in front who went 8 of 16 on her way to 21 points and four steals. Mesler's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Timmer, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Sound Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Quilcene, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Sound Christian will square off against Muckleshoot Tribal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sound Christian's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Muckleshoot Tribal's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Quilcene, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Puget Sound Adventist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Quilcene is facing Puget Sound Adventist at the right time seeing as Puget Sound Adventist is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
