Metamora lost to Morton on the road by a 59-42 margin on Tuesday. The Redbirds' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Canton hadn't done well against East Peoria recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Canton had just enough and edged East Peoria out 64-62. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Little Giants as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Metamora's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 20-5. As for Canton, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 9-13.

Metamora took their win against Canton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 73-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Metamora since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
