Recap: Minto Lakers vs. Susitna Valley Rams
The Minto Lakers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 45-24 defeat at the hands of Susitna Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Minto has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Minto saw an underclassman step up: Jena Smith scored 14 points.
Minto's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Susitna Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minto will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Effie Kokrine Charter at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Susitna Valley, Susitna Valley and Cordova will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
