Basketball Recap: Zack Duran's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Livingston over Central Valley

Livingston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central Valley Hawks. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zack Duran, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Duran a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Baez, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Livingston's record now sits at 6-10. As for Central Valley, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livingston will face off against Lathrop at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Livingston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Central Valley, they will square off against Johansen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Johansen knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Central Valley likes a good challenge.
