Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Comets vs. Carroll Cougars

The Eastern Comets will take on the Carroll Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Eastern came up short against Madison-Grant and fell 61-52. While the Comets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Argylls 22-15 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Carroll had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 57-48.

Carroll pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Eastern, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Eastern came out on top in a nail-biter against Carroll in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 59-56. Will Eastern repeat their success, or does Carroll have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
