Basketball Recap: Leetonia Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jason King and Ethan Mathia

After flying high against Academy for Urban Scholars on Monday, Leetonia came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the Badger Braves on Tuesday, falling 74-54. The Bears lost against the Braves in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-13 score last time.

Despite the loss, Leetonia had strong showings from Ethan Mathia, who posted 21 points, and Jason King, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 12 points.

Leetonia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Badger, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Leetonia will challenge Mineral Ridge at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Badger, they will square off against Chalker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Braves' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
