Softball Recap: Lakeside Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Lakeside entered their tilt with Choudrant on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Aggies 9-1. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

McKenna Chreene was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting three hits from her four at bats.

In other batting news, Lakeside let Emily Jones and Teal Austin run wild. Jones went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Austin went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Austin has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Raleah Harris, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Choudrant, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will head out to square off against Stanley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Choudrant, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mangham at 3:30 p.m.
