Basketball Game Preview: Conway Wampus Cats vs. Central Tigers

The Conway Wampus Cats will take on the Central Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Central will be up against a hot Conway team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 21. Conway simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Cabot 65-29. Given the Wampus Cats' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Panthers are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Central duked it out with Cabot on Friday. Central breezed past Cabot to the tune of 65-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Conway's victory was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.

Conway was able to grind out a solid victory over Central in their previous meeting back in January, winning 69-59. Will Conway repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
