Volleyball Recap: Peoria Takes a Loss

Peoria lost against Deer Valley on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Skyhawks.

Peoria was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Peoria lost, don't look at Jakarai Robinson. Despite the final result, he had 15 digs. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Elijah Morales also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Peoria's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Deer Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Peoria will challenge Cactus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against North on the 21st.
