Softball Recap: Fayetteville-Manlius Wins Going Away Against Rome Free Academy

Fayetteville-Manlius lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rome Free Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Hornets blew past the Black Knights 9-2 on Friday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Fayetteville-Manlius has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Rome Free Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayetteville-Manlius will head out to face off against Auburn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rome Free Academy, they will take on West Genesee at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
