Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss

Jefferson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dublin Fighting Irish. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 165th).

Dublin was led to victory by Aj Johnson and Javion Harris. Johnson posted 16 points and seven boards, while Harris went 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Harris a new career-high in assists (two). Tristian Bell was another key player, putting up five points and five assists.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Dublin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Jefferson County will face off against East Laurens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Laurens has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three contests. As for Dublin, they will take on Wheeler County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dublin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season.
