Volleyball Game Preview: Torres Toros vs. Sotomayor Wolves

The Torres Toros will head out on the road to take on the Sotomayor Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Torres has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 19.

Torres came up short against Elizabeth on Monday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-8, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Sotomayor had to endure a four-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Maywood Academy 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since April 5, 2025.

Sotomayor wouldn't go down easily and took Maywood Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 15-7.

Sotomayor's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Torres, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Torres couldn't quite get it done against Sotomayor when the teams last played on April 6th as they fell 3-1. Can the Toros avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
