Soccer Game Preview: Christ Church Episcopal vs. St. Joseph's Catholic

The Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers will square off against the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Christ Church Episcopal's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so St. Joseph's Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for them.

While Christ Church Episcopal's victory against Powdersville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cavaliers never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for Christ Church Episcopal, who have now won three matches in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Amelia Spinks, who's now up to seven this season.

Despite a strong season so far, St. Joseph's Catholic has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They came up short against Powdersville on Monday, falling 5-2.

Christ Church Episcopal pushed their record up to 10-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.

Christ Church Episcopal was able to grind out a solid win over St. Joseph's Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
