Preview: Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Fletcher Senators

Trinity Christian Academy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors and the Fletcher Senators will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Trinity Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.

Trinity Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 69-17 loss at the hands of Providence School. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while Providence School is ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Fletcher waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Sandalwood 46-28. That's two games straight that Fletcher has won by exactly 18 points.

Fletcher's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mattie Gilliam led the charge by scoring 11 points. Reagan Slaveski was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals and two blocks.

Trinity Christian Academy's loss was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Fletcher, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
