Baseball Recap: Alta Loma Braves vs. South Hills Huskies

Alta Loma extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 8-19 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Hills Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-0 loss on Monday.

Grant MacCharles was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. MacCharles was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

MacCharles wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cody Primanto, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for South Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

On South Hills' side, the team relied heavily on Wesley Manning, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Manning has posted since back in April.
