Soccer Game Preview: O'Connor vs. Pinnacle

O'Connor hasn't had much luck against Pinnacle recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The O'Connor Eagles will take on the Pinnacle Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

O'Connor fell victim to Liberty and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle faced Desert Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Pinnacle fell just short of Desert Vista by a score of 1-0. The Pioneers have struggled against the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1. As for O'Connor, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1.

O'Connor came out on top in a nail-biter against Pinnacle in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for O'Connor since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
