Baseball Recap: Bonita Takes a Loss

Bonita fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Charter Oak on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Charter Oak Chargers by a score of 3-2. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adam Raab was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Austin Owens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Bonita's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Charter Oak, their record is now 2-3.

Coming up, Bonita will be playing in front of their home fans against South Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (South Hills: 3.8, Bonita: 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Charter Oak, they are taking a road trip to take on Walnut at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Walnut has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
