Baseball Game Preview: Rogers Rams vs. Lima Senior Spartans

Rogers is 2-7 against Lima Senior since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rams will head out to face off against the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Rogers has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rogers is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs last Monday, they were much more limited against Start on Monday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 20-1.

Rogers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Doering, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Bowsher hit Lima Senior with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 10-3 to the BlueRacers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the BlueRacers since April 15, 2017.

Riley Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Elie Bermudez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Lima Senior has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Rogers, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rogers hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Lima Senior struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Rogers might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Lima Senior when the teams last played back in March. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
