Football Recap: Apache Junction Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-14, which was the final score in the Apache Junction Prospectors's tilt against the Gilbert Christian Knights on Friday. The Prospectors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Apache Junction took the loss, they still got scores from Michael Osborn and Gavin Mozingo.

Gilbert Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamari Stanbury out in front who picked up 45 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one rushing score.

Apache Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Gilbert Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Apache Junction does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gilbert Christian, they will take on Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
