Basketball Recap: Rosehill Christian Takes a Loss

Rosehill Christian fought the good fight in their overtime game against First Baptist Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the First Baptist Christian Warriors. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Rachel Froedge continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for First Baptist Christian, putting up 22 points. Froedge is also crushing it when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Illyria Scott, who posted 12 points.

Rosehill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for First Baptist Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

While Rosehill Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
