Baseball Recap: Triton Beats Bremen for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Triton took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bremen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans won by a run and slipped past the Lions 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Drew Bingamon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Triton: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

Bingamon wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Triton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bremen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Triton will be playing at home against Winamac at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Bremen, they will head out to face off against Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Jimmies have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
