Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Urbana's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Urbana won the last time they faced South Hagerstown and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hawks blew past the Rebels 11-1. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Daniel Jakubowyc looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayden Lipscomb, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Billy Swaney, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Urbana has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for South Hagerstown, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
