Seeger had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the South Newton Rebels with a sharp 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Garrett Wontor's shutout, as he gave up just a hit.

At the plate, Macyn Hughes was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Grimmett, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Seeger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.

Seeger's record now sits at 11-8. As for South Newton, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Seeger has already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against Bismarck-Henning on the 13th. As for South Newton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-7 defeat against Frontier on the 13th.
