Copiah Academy and Parklane Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Copiah Academy Colonels will host the Parklane Academy Pioneers at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Copiah Academy is looking for their season's first win.

Copiah Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Tipton-Rosemark Academy by a score of 5-3.

Meanwhile, Parklane Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Cathedral on Monday and fell 3-2.

Aaron Holmes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Parklane Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydon Jackson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that Jackson got this season.

Even though they lost, Parklane Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Parklane Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Copiah Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Copiah Academy took their victory against Parklane Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 16-8. Will Copiah Academy repeat their success, or does Parklane Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
