Baseball Recap: Christian Brothers Gets the Win

Christian Brothers barely beat Gateway Legacy Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cadets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Cadets in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Michael Sievers looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Christian Brothers is 3-1 when Sievers allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Brady Rallo was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Kale Price was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

The victory got Christian Brothers back to even at 8-8. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Looking ahead, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy will challenge Hazelwood East at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Christian Brothers will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' matchup: after the Lions face off against the Spartans, they'll take on Christian Brothers again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
