It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Addison Trail ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Downers Grove South Mustangs, sneaking past 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Blazers, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Addison Trail's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Downers Grove South, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Addison Trail is taking a road trip to square off against Naperville North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Downers Grove South, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Andrew at 11:00 a.m. The Thunderbolts will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
