Baseball Game Preview: Pine City Dragons vs. Ogilvie Lions

The Pine City Dragons will head out to face off against the Ogilvie Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine City has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pine City's last matchup with Aitkin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Dragons lost 15-1 to the Gobblers. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Gobblers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Pine City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Hegge, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ogilvie came up short against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Thursday and fell 7-3. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

Pine City's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ogilvie, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Pine City suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Ogilvie in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
