Football Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 45-0 defeat at the hands of the Licking Heights Hornets. The Lancers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Licking Heights, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood will challenge Utica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will be up against the Redskins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Licking Heights, they will square off against Licking Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
