Baseball Recap: Calico Rock Comes Up Short

Calico Rock came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to the Cotter Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Kyle French made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Calico Rock's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Landon Russell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Calico Rock's record now sits at 4-4. As for Cotter, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calico Rock will welcome Cave City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cotter, they will host Lead Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
