Baseball Recap: Gulf Pointe Latin Find Success

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Gulf Pointe Latin brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They came out on top against the East Hill Christian Eagles by a score of 10-7 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

John DeFore was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Grimes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Gulf Pointe Latin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for East Hill Christian, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Gulf Pointe Latin and East Hill Christian will both be playing West Florida Baptist Academy the next time they take the field. The Gladiators will host the Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
