Softball Recap: Shawnee Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Shawnee had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Madison Mohawks get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won 13 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Alee Trimmer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emma George was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Lily Wilson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Shawnee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Shawnee's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Shawnee nor Madison have any future games scheduled.
