Recap: Mitchell Mustangs vs. Hernando Leopards
On Thursday, Mitchell was able to grind out a solid win over Hernando, taking the game 48-39.
Mitchell found their leader in underclassman Moriah Hillmon, who scored five points along with seven assists and five steals.
Hernando's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ayana Kincade, who scored 17 points, and Aislin Ruppe who scored 13 points.
Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Hernando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will take on Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Dayla Christopher and Priya Jacob. As for Hernando, they will be playing at home against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
