Baseball Recap: Perrysburg Extends Winning Streak to Four

Perrysburg waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Whitmer Panthers by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 last Monday.

Aaron Banks made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Banks was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Lucas Graham was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.

Perrysburg pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average this season. As for Whitmer, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Perrysburg will challenge Southview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellow Jackets 2.3, the Cougars 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Whitmer, they will venture away from home to square off against Findlay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
