League recap: Deer Park stuns West Brook in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Brook, who took down 289th ranked West Brook, 58-28.

North Shore extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region III District 21 this week by beating Port Arthur Memorial, 31-24. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

North Shore's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Micah Thomas has thrown for 758 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Kevian DeLeon has 10 catches for 319 yards. Tristan Houston leads the league in rushing with 487 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when La Porte takes on Deer Park. The Bulldogs are currently in third, while the Deer are in fourth.

Deer Park moved up to 285 from 410 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region III District 21. Chris Massey's team was able to make the jump by defeating the Bruins 58-28.
