Baseball Recap: Prince George Comes Up Short

Prince George lost against Hopewell back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Royals fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cash Warren was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Prince George: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Ayden Capps was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Prince George's record now sits at 5-8. As for Hopewell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Prince George will challenge rival Thomas Dale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hopewell is set to take on their familiar foe Dinwiddie at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Blue Devils have won nine straight at home dating back to last season, while the Generals won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
