Baseball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Comes Up Short

Eastern Mennonite fell victim to Miller School of Albemarle and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Mavericks, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flames of the 23-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Eastern Mennonite has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Eastern Mennonite will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fishburne Military at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they will face off against The Covenant at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
