Basketball Recap: Dominguez Has No Trouble Against Maywood Academy

On Saturday, the Dominguez Dons made easy work of the Maywood Academy Nighthawks and carried off a 75-54 win. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Several Nighthawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rodrigo Miranda, who posted eight points along with 12 assists and five rebounds. Miranda has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more assists the last 21 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fernando Payan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards.

Dominguez's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Maywood Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Dominguez will host Garfield on Monday. Garfield will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Dominguez surely won't give up without a fight. Maywood Academy has already played their next game (against Banning), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
